Hookers and Blow Save Christmas

It is Christmas 2022, so today’s review is going to be very short and sweet, this week’s book of the week was brought to my attention by a friend and is appropriate to the day, Hookers and Blow Save Christmas, written and illustrated by Munty C Pepin. And the accompanying cocktail is called the Dirty Snowman which is 1 scoop vanilla ice cream, 1 oz baileys, 1 cup hot chocolate, and whipped cream for topping. So lets do this.

This review is going to take, like, 5 minutes, I’m not even sure it took me that long to read the book, but it was a cute book. Obviously, the title is designed to grab an adult’s attention, but aside from some obvious double entendre during some of the rhyming couplets, this really was a cute children’s story from start to finish, about a truck that gets stuck in the snow while transporting the towns Christmas gifts. So, the local police call the snowplow (Blow) and the tow truck (Hookers) to help out.

And it’s cute! It’s cute for Christmas but could also be used to make a scary situation, like being stuck in the snow, less scary for little kids. Like if I had kids, I would probably buy this for the title, then keep it as a quick Christmas read for a bedtime story or for traveling during winter, especially if snow is expected. I don’t have kids and have no need to keep this, so I will be giving my copy to my pregnant niece today, so she has something to read to her baby next year.

And that’s it for this week. Told you I’d keep it short and sweet. Merry Christmas everyone, happy Yule, Happy Hanukkah...Happy Holidays, whatever your jam is.

This book was originally reviewed on YouTube on December 25, 2022, but is now available on Rumble and PodBean.
