Skinwalkers at the Pentagon: An Insider’s Account of the Secret Government UFO Program

This month we’re looking at all the ways the government has spent our hard earned tax dollars, making this weeks book Skinwalkers at the Pentagon: An Insider’s Account of the Secret Government UFO Program by James T. Lacatski, Colm A Kelleher, and George Knapp. So let’s do this.

So, confession time. I was already against this program, when I found out the major sponsor of the $22 million government funding was Democratic Senator Harry Reid. I’m from Nevada. I can confidently say I never voted for Harry Reid. And the one time I attempted to contact him regarding concerns I had for legislation he was sponsoring, he failed to address any of my concerns, instead sending me a pat on the had, patronizing form letter along the lines of “Why don’t you let the men folk handle this” type.

So I almost didn’t read the book just based on that. Like, I read the forward by Reid, and then had to walk away for a few minutes.

But, I am a trooper if nothing else, and so I came back to it. So I could see how Harry Reid wasted my tax dollars.

In recent years, the government has….softened….on their opinions of UFO’s, which have been rebranded as UAP’s or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. They no longer say they don’t exist. But they do say they are not proof of alien life. Which is fair. Personally I think it’s hubris to assume that we are the only intelligent life in the universe. The universe is massive. Statistically, I think it’s impossible that we’re it.

So what’s going on?

Well, they buried the lead in Appendix IV of the book. Skinwalker Ranch is 480 acres in the Northeastern Uintah Basin in Utah. We know for a fact that UAP’s have been happening in this little corner of UT for at least 100 years. Documented, reported, UAP’s. The author’s speculate as far back as the Lewis and Clark expedition...actually they say the 1700’s. Realistically, to see how far back the lore goes, I would check out Native American folklore. Because they inhabited this area for a lot longer than white people’s. And their oral history is probably where the story is.

Additionally, Skinwalker is a purely Native American tradition. So that is likely where the name for the ranch comes from.

Anyways, a lot of credible reports of UFO/UAP come from witnesses all over the Uintah basin, and the reports center over Skinwalker Ranch. In addition to UAPs we have animal mutilation reports, like cows with severed heads, dogs turned into puddles of goo, horses being hunted by wolf like things that walk on two legs.

In 1996, a newspaper article on this activity is seen by Robert Bigelow, a billionaire business man in Las Vegas, NV. So he goes out to Skinwalker Ranch and arranges to buy the ranch from the current owners, who are given the pseudonym The Gormans in the book. If you seriously want to know, you can research property records in UT, most property transactions are public records.

So Bigelow buys the ranch and immediately starts installing surveillance cameras to keep track of the goings ons and hires a couple to oversee the property, review the nightly tapes, and report of any weird goings on. And they have lots of weird goings on to report over the next decade, which is basically where the story really starts.

So the program that was ultimately greenlit by the congress critters, as spearheaded by Harry Reid, Republican Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska, and Democratic Senator Dan Inouye of Hawaii was called Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP). Basically, this program was designated to determine the national security threat that may exist because of UAP’s.

Now...I’m not convinced UAP’s are the major threat the author’s bill it as. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there have been undeniable harms by people who have seen UAP’s. Virtually everyone who has spent time at Skinwalker Ranch reports hitchhikers that follow them home and terrorize their families.

And the description of that viscerally pulled me back to a time I had an absolutely enormous owl materialize on the end of my bed and stare at me. That could have been a dream. Or not. Because one of the things described is a large owl. So who fucking knows. But this is why I say I’m not convinced UAP’s are a threat. Because I poured that little birdy a healthy slug of whiskey and we kind of hugged it out. And I’ve never had any other problems with spirit entities or whatever you want to call them.

But the people who get freaked out by it, have experienced massive medical problems. Thyroid issues, tumors, respiratory distress.

This is what they could share. Because a lot of this were medical issues that occurred to employees or other insured individuals by the corporate entity that was handling the AAWSAP investigation, there were limits under HIPAA of what could be shared.

And what was that corporate entity? WELLL….

Shockingly, billionaire businessman Robert Bigelow’s company Bigelow Aerospace was the only one to bid on, and thus the only one two win, the $22 million contract. Bigelow was friends with Harry Reid.

So yeah….I dislike Reid. Bigelow can spend his own money however the hell he wants to. Reid spent my money. Gave it to Bigelow. For a contract that was supposed to be five years but was cut after two years. Why it was cut was not provided.

But are UAP’s a national security threat? Well, remember when I read The Human Mind Owner’s Manual by Sean Webb, where he talks about people who invite contact and his own experience doing so. With no negative reaction, no medical problems. And he talks about Skinwalker Ranch in that book!

Look, I’m a believer. I’ve never been to Skinwalker Ranch but I know I’m not the only one that hugs it out with my demons and invites them to be house protectors. And I can’t help but think that if they invited some medicine men from the local Ute tribes to assist, there is probably some lore the tribes are aware of that would abate the attacks causing the medical issues. This is a spiritual problem, not a medical one.

In 2016, Bigelow sold the ranch to Brandon Fugal, who upgraded the cameras on site and continues the investigation on his own dime. Yay rich people! Healthy boost was no doubt received from the History Channel when they started the show Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch.

I will say the real boon of this book is Appendix I. Because basically, this has everything you would need to file FOIA requests for various reports that came out of the two years the program was active. And the book was a who’s who of the DIA personnel we met in last weeks book, Phenomena. And it was really interesting that John Glenn, famous astronaut, was wholly in favor of the program. Why is that interesting? Well, Glenn is the one who looked askance at Edgar Mitchell when Mitchell admitted to the ESP experiment while on the Apollo 14 mission. So Glenn believes in UAP’s….but not ESP.

I mean...you can believe whatever you want, but the AAWSAP program used Joseph McMoneagle and Hal Puthoff who was with the Stanford Research Institute and created the remote viewing protocols. Lot of crossover here in belief. And a lot of hypocrisy. Because they all believe wholeheartedly in UAP. But if I told them to have a sit down with a medicine man or a witch to tell them how to clean up the spirits in their house, they’d probably look at me like I was crazy.

This book was a mixed bag for me. I feel like the authors were really trying to justify the expense of their program. And as a taxpayer, that justification is not there. This is fully in the realm of let the rich pay for whatever program they want, but until aliens are literally parked over the White House, this is not a national security concern.
